St. Nicolas Church

St. Nikoloz Church, whose foundations were laid in the Adjara Region in 1865, when a delegation of Greeks from Batumi requested permission from the Ottoman Sultan; It was built on the condition of the Ottoman sultan of the period that the bells should never be rung.


The historical church, which lost its function for a period of 10-12 years like other places of worship in the city during the Soviet period, took its current form with its last restoration in 1999.
