Subaşı Inn

It is on the street known as the Court Bazaar in the center of Sivas. It is understood from the records in the Sivas Şeriye Registry Book that he was from the foundation of Sinan Pasha, the governor of Sivas, who died in 1525. It has no book. It is a two-storey wooden Ottoman period inn with an open courtyard in the middle, with a rectangular plan of 25 x 40.50 m. Subaşı Inn was built from wooden sections with later additions on an old structure with thick cut stone walls. It would be more accurate to examine the Subaşı Inn in two parts. There is a section called Develik in the eastern direction, and a wooden and masonry two-storey section on the other side. Due to its resemblance to the covered bazaar type in Southeastern Anatolia, they are considered one of the two covered bazaars in the Sinan Pasha Foundation. It was built in the century. The rectangular planned space is divided into three naves with a pile of bricks in the middle. The protrusions formed on the feet and walls were connected to each other by arches. The upper cover is covered with cross vaults. The single-storey Develik part is illuminated by skylights from the top, and is in the form of a flat roof from the outside. Today, this section has been restored and turned into a restaurant. The two-storey wooden and masonry section is also the section with a rectangular plan, an open courtyard, a fountain in the middle, surrounded by porticoes on three sides except the south side, shops behind the porticoes, and the upper floor used as workplaces. This section is entered through the large gates in the south and west directions. On the lower floor, the back of the cloisters inside and the shops facing only outwards on the outside were built as masonry with pointed arches, barrel vaults. It is reached and descended by stairs in the east direction to the upper floor and the camel section. This chapter is XIX. It was built in the century.
