Sunken Minaret
With the establishment of the Derbent Dam on Kızılırmak between 1984 and 1990 by the State Hydraulic Works, around 200 structures in Boğazkaya District of Bafra district were flooded. The only structure remaining above water from the old settlement area is the minaret of the mosque, which was not destroyed.
