Taksiyarhis Church
The name of this church, built by the Greek Orthodox community, means archangels. The construction of the church, which has a single-domed structure, belongs to a very old period. The fact that the island is the most important monumental structure has caused it to become a frequent destination for tourists. The church, built in 1873, was used as the central church. The church has a single-domed structure. Although it was built as a central district church, it was used as a mosque without a minaret between 1927-1928. Located in Balikesir's Ayvalık district, the church is considered one of the most important historical structures. magnificently decorated, spacious Greek Orthodox church, built in 1844, is now a museum open to visitors.
