Taşkale Granaries
Granary Warehouses, located within the borders of Karaman Merkez Taşkale Town, consist of more than 250 warehouses carved entirely by human hands on a high rock mass consisting of clayey limestone in Taşkale. The warehouses are carved as one or two rooms. The niches on the rock surface are climbed by clinging, and grain products are transported by the chain pulley system. Warehouses, where cereal products can be stored for a long time without spoiling as a result of the heat and humidity constant feature of clayey limestone, serve the function of today's modern refrigerators. In the granaries, the products can be stored for 30 years without spoiling.
