The Horseman Gate
Located in Düzce Province, Merkez District, Çiftepınarlar Neighborhood, the 1st group of monuments, the equestrian gate and its extension walls, are the entrance gate of the ancient city of Prusias ad Hypium. The fortification walls were used in spolia with inscriptions during repairs at different times. The horse embossed door lintel is made of local limestone. On the lintel, there is a burial stele built by a Prusian man for his mother, with a horse depiction and a Greek inscription. The walls are approximately 200 m. much has been preserved.
