Tokat Clock Tower
Tokat Clock Tower is a clock tower located in the central district of Tokat province. II. In honor of the 25th anniversary of Abdülhamid's accession to the throne , clock towers were erected all over Turkey. One of those towers is located in slap and is the most important symbol of the city. Tower Tokat Clock Tower, which was built as 3 floors in 1902, reached a height of 33 meters by adding 1 more floor in 1915. The tower is made of cut stone. With the help of the public, it was built by the Governor Bekir Pasha and the Mayor of the Municipality, Enver Bey, son of the trustee, and it was built in the Behzat district so that it can be seen from all over the city. The tower is in full alarm with 4 dials working on a single mechanism and every half hour and at the beginning of the hour with an interval of two minutes, its sound can be heard very comfortably from all over the city. This tower is known as the greatest witness of the time. . Clock towers in many places are inoperative, but this tower in slap has been working for 117 years. Ahmet Unan, who has been working as a watchmaker under the clock tower for the last 25 years, inherited from a benevolent father named Ahmet Unan. The watchmaker stands on a precision bar, which runs 4 clocks at once. In a small scale shift, the clock can break, so no one except Ahmet Unan can enter here. This clock makes the quiet and calm city move.
