Tokmak Hasan Pasha Mosque

Tokmak Hasan Paşa Mosque, located in the Hasanpaşa Neighborhood of the Paşaköy Town of the Şefaatli District, was built in H.1187 (M.1773). The mosque has a single storey and hipped roof. Its walls were built with a masonry masonry system. It is in the north-south direction and has a rectangular plan. There are rows of windows above and below. The walls are whitewashed on plaster. The minaret of the building was built later with a spiral and a single balcony. The mosque was repaired in 1895. According to the information obtained, it is said that the mosque underwent a minor restoration in 1965. Some decorations inside the mosque belong to this period. The entrance door has a low arch and profile. The sanctuary part of the mosque has a wooden ceiling on wooden beams placed vertically on 8 free and 4 false legs, which thicken as one goes to the mihrab and rest on stone plinths, each of which is reused. The tops of the wooden legs should be carved, reminiscent of the column head in the ancient tradition. The mihrab, which is located in a rectangular panel of stone from the wall façade to the outside, is in the form of a niche embedded in the wall. Paşaköy Town Tokmak Hasan Paşa Mosque was registered and taken under protection in 2005 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Kayseri Cultural and Natural Heritage Conservation Regional Board.
