Tuzhisar Church

It is in Tuzhisar village, 49 km away from the district center. The land where the church is located is deed to a private person in the village.

It is in the mountains and far from the settlements. It is impossible to reach the place where the church is located by car, it is reached by following a steep walking path. On the land where the village is located, there are many caves apart from this church. The church, which is thought to have been built in the 18th century, has three naves. It has a basilica plan. Its dimensions are 13.70 x 20.20 meters. It is made of cut stone. The thickness of the body wall is 1.40 meters. The building is entered through a door that is 1.80 meters wide. The columns are connected to each other with pointed arches. Today, there are cracks only on the wall on the western façade. It is entered through a wooden double door, then there is a 6.50 meter long midfield. There are two more 3.70 meters in size on the sides of the platform. Three columns with a cylindrical body, 1.85 meters high, formed these platforms. The columns are connected to each other by iron braces.
