Tyana Ruins
Ancient Tyana Ruins is located in Kemerhisar Town, Bor district of Niğde. Valuable sculptures found in various parts of the town, artifacts and architectural pieces found as a result of scientific excavations in the area are exhibited in the Niğde Museum. While the arches in the section from the Roman Pool to the inner part of the town are underground, the arches in the remaining section and up to the excavation area are above ground. In the past, water was carried to the city from the Roman Pool with these aqueducts, which belong to the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD, a large part of which is still standing today. The arches were made without mortar and have a length of 4.5 km. Kemerhisar, which has hosted many civilizations from prehistory to the collapse of the Hittites, was called Tuwanuwa in the Hittites period and Tyana in Rome. In addition, the ruins 1.-2. and it has been taken under protection as a 3rd protected area. Scientific excavations carried out by an Italian team in the area since 2000 are still continuing.
