Urla/Kokar Bay

There are two marinas around Kokar. Alaçatı marina is approximately 19 nautical miles (35 km) and Sığacık marina is 10 nautical miles (18 km) away. Demircili mooring area is 6 nautical miles away and there are over a thousand boats travelling in this area. Kokar, which has the same characteristics as the bays such as Göbün and Boynuz bükü in Göcek, is neither protected as much as them, nor is it recognised by sea tourism and does not create a tourism value.  In the recent period, it is not clearly known by Urlalians how the coastal use of Kokar has been shaped. The boats in the region go to these bays in the south of Urla and anchor on their coasts. In none of the bays, including Kokar, there is a protective anele, bollard, vault system, garbage waste collection service on the shore, and this type of use causes sea pollution, destruction of coastal nature and meadows in the sea.  The only supervision in the area is carried out by the boats of the coast guard, and the waste documents of the area are mainly provided by the fishermen cooperatives in Sığacık.

Gökliman and dozens of bays in and around Gökliman have had their share of neglect, especially in the summer months, most of them have become the target of boaters who do not know how to live in the sea, and rude beach invaders.
