Üveyspaşa Mosque

Üveyspaşa Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Aydın. It was built in 1568 by the Egyptian Governor Üveyspaşa. The mosque, which was destroyed in the 1899 earthquake, was later rebuilt.

The mosque, which burned down during the Greek occupation of Aydın, was restored between 1947-1948.

The mosque, which has a courtyard, has a single dome in square architecture. The dome on the high pulley is covered with tiles. A simple workmanship was preferred on the mihrab and pulpit.
