Uzun Mehmet Memorial

The Uzun Mehmet Monument, which was completed in a short period of 3 months in 1973 by Architect Yılmaz Soylu, is one of the important monuments of Zonguldak. The construction of the monument was carried out by the Zonguldak Hard Coal Institution and was built in honor of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our Republic. The 3 flames in the monument represent the 3 martyrs of Zonguldak. With the renovation works carried out around the monument by the municipality in 1983, it has also been turned into a walking and picnic area. Nihat Oğuz Bor, the governor of the period, made great contributions to the construction of the monument. You can visit Uzun Mehmet Monument to see this monument dedicated to Uzun Mehmet, who has an important place in Zonguldak's past, and to enjoy the pleasant Zonguldak view.
