Velipaşa Inn

Velipaşa Inn, located in the Çepni District, was built by Velipaşa, one of the Yozgat Beys. In the foundations of the General Directorate of Foundations, the location and surroundings of the inn were described in the foundation charters dated 2 Muharrem 1283 and 23 Muharrem 1303, and the affinity of the foundation was avoided. The acre that is mentioned in the foundation charters with a description of 1303 was completely burned down in 1914, and the current inn and its annexes were built in 1915-1916 by Şevket Bey, the grandson of the foundation and also its trustee. Velipaşa Inn covers an area of 1000 square meters and was built as two floors. The mansion section facing only the front façade has three floors. The inn, which sets an example for the inns of the Ottoman Period in terms of both its plan and architecture, was built using wood and masonry materials. In the inn, which was operated as a hotel for many years, according to the survey project drawn in 1982, there were a section where horse carriages were tied around the stone courtyard on the lower floor, warehouses and coffee houses. The upper floor was reached by wooden stairs at both ends of the courtyard, and there were 35 inn rooms on the upper floor.
