War of Independence Museum
The War of Independence Museum (Kurtuluş Savaşı Müzesi), housed in the first Turkish Grand National Assembly building in the Ulus district of Ankara, Turkey, displays important photographs, documents and furniture from the Turkish War of Independence .
The First Turkish Grand National Assembly Building was designed by the Evkaf (Foundations Administration) architect Salim Bey to be used as a clubhouse by the Committee of Union and Progress in 1915, by the order of Enver Pasha, and the task of executing the project was Mahmut Şevket, Ankara representative of the Committee of Union and Progress. Esendal) to Bey; the project construction work was given to the military architect Hasip Bey, who was in charge of the Corps. Hasip Bey has successfully completed the masonry part of the building, but the roof and other parts have been left unfinished due to the ongoing war and material shortages; Architect Hasip Bey was also martyred during the War of Independence.
