Yakutiye Madrasa, which was built in 1310 by Hoca Yakut Gazani in the name of Gazan Han and Bolugan Hatun, is located in the center of Erzurum and next to the Lala Pasha Mosque. Yakutiye Madrasa, which is one of the flamboyant structures of Erzurum with its large motif decorations and architecture, is known as the largest of the closed courtyard madrasahs in Anatolia. Today, this valuable architectural work serves as the Turkish-Islamic Arts and Ethnography Museum.


Yakutiye Madrasa Turkish-Islamic Artifacts and Ethnography Museum, which opened its doors to visitors on October 29, 1994, hosts ethnographic artifacts from the Erzurum region. The local clothes, jewelry, items such as carpets, rugs and scales that describe the life of the people in the Erzurum region, as well as manuscripts, artifacts from the Seljuk Period, Oltu stone rosaries and coins are spread over 11 sections. This museum must be at the top of the list of places to visit in Erzurum.
