Yason Burnu Church
The name Yason is inherited from Jason, who landed here with the Argonauts. There is an old monastery/church named 'Panaya' at the bottom of the cape. The name of the church on the peninsula within the borders of Çaytepe is also known as Jason's Church.
This church was built by the Greeks and Georgians living in the region in 1868, and its architecture is very special. Cape Jason is essentially a very old settlement. M.S. In the 3rd century, after celebrating the birth of Jesus in Giresun, the Christians would come here to participate in the 'Festival of Lights'.
