Yeşilköy Stefanos Church
At the church site near the Yeşilköy marina, the Crusaders who occupied Constantinople in 1204 stayed for three days. It is believed that Etienne Monastery. S. Hovhannesyan (1740 - 1805) wrote that there was also a church in the village known as Ay Stefanos. The church that has survived to the present day was built on November 28, 1845. The building measures 22.31 x 13.75 m externally and is approximately 10.5 m high. The bell tower of the three-naved, basilica-plan church was built later. In the small frames at the top of the iconostasis, Hz. Depictions related to the life of Jesus are placed. The larger frames at the bottom are from the left; Hagios Stephanos, Virgin Mary and Child Jesus, Hz. Depictions of Jesus and Ioannes Prodromos are placed. The faces of the ambo facing the central nave are Hz. It is decorated with depictions of Jesus and the four Gospel Writers. Christ Pantocrator was painted on the roof of the naos, and scenes from the Bible were painted on the front of the gallery. Hagia Stefanos Greek Church burned down twice before 1845, and according to its last inscription, it was opened in 1845 and was built by Bogos Bey. It was last restored in 1995. There is also a primary school belonging to the Greek Community in the district, but it is closed because it has no students.
