Yivli Minaret Complex
The first of the cities that come to mind when the Mediterranean is mentioned is undoubtedly Antalya. Yivli Minaret, which gives its name to one of the most well-known historical mosques in Antalya, which is also famous for its neo-classical works rooted in the lands where the spirit of ancient civilizations is still felt, draws attention with its unique architectural design and form. This structure, known as the Yivli Minaret due to its fluted structure in the very center of the city, has become one of the architectural symbols of Antalya. The Yivli Minaret, which catches your eye with its unique structure when you turn your head towards the sea while walking in the city center, is one of the most beautiful examples of Seljuk art. The Yivli Minaret, with its age dating back to the 13th century, has been appearing under the blue sky for centuries. Located in Antalya's Kalekapısı district and included in a complex with other Seljuk artifacts, the Yivli Minaret is flooded by visitors especially during Ramadan. Other structures in the complex; Yivli Mosque, Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev Madrasa, Seljuk Madrasa, Mevlevihane, Zincirkıran Tomb and Nigar Hatun Tomb. The Yivli Minaret, which is the symbol of Antalya with its feature that can be seen from all over the city, is made of square shaped block stone, and the body is sliced and consists of 8 half-cylinders. Turquoise tiles have not survived to the present day.
