Yunus Pasha (Kurşunlu) Mosque
The Turkish inscription at the entrance of the Yunus Pasha Mosque, located in the Mosque Ulucami District of the Taraklı district center, includes the date 1517. Yunus Pasha Mosque, which was built by the Grand Vizier Yunus Pasha in 1517 during the Egypt expedition of Yavuz Sultan Selim, is known as the "Kurşunlu Mosque" among the people because its dome is covered with lead. The mosque was built on a square plan of cut stones. The three iwans on the front of the mosque are supported by four marble columns. The interior of the iwans is decorated. There is a verse in Arabic on the main entrance door. The inscription contains the 24th Verse of Râd Period: “Assalam aleykum bima sabertum fenime ukbeddar. Salute to you for your patience!”
The balcony of the mosque can be accessed from the left side of the landing section. There are 10 cell-shaped windows at the bottom. These windows are fitted with internal wooden doors. There are 8 windows with arched tops and colored glass in the upper parts. There is a fountain in its garden, and there are graves on the left side and backyard of the mosque. The façade walls are built of finely carved limestone, resulting in eaves cornices that are also worked from limestone. The total land area of the mosque is 1,265 square meters and the interior area is 144 square meters and has a capacity of 180 people. All calligraphy in the mosque was written by the late calligrapher Hafiz Saim Özel from Taraklı.
