Zağnos Pasha Bridge

Zağnos Pasha Bridge

Zagnos Bridge connects Ortahisar and Zagnos (Atapark) Square. A bridge with two arches in a row was originally built in the form of an arc with 6 or 7 arches. Most of the lower parts of the bridge were built during the Roman Period. In addition, craftsmanship from the Byzantine Period can also be seen. It was repaired by Zagnos Mehmet Pasha in the 15th century. With the repairs made over time, the bridge has expanded. Zagnos Bridge is the symbol of the entrance to the historical city center from the west. The bridge, which is still open to heavy pedestrian and distribution use, has been repaired and well placed.
