Ordu State Hospital

The first staff of Ordu Hospital is not known exactly. In 1903, there were 2 physicians and 2 private pharmacists, one of which was a Municipal Doctor, in the city of Ordu. There were 15 beds in the hospital. There were 1 internal medicine doctor and 1 pharmacist. Surgery patients were usually sent to Istanbul. Hospital; It was not in a position to meet the needs with the number of beds and staff available.

In order for the hospital to provide better service, young people from Ordu organized a demonstration in 1921 and earned 600 liras in income. Young people also collected 600 liras from tradesmen and merchants by organizing donation campaigns. With this source, the hospital, bed, blanket, medicine, etc. They bought the material. The Ordu Hospital in the city was financially supported by the Ordu Accounting-i Hususiye (Provincial Special Administration) Administration, after the proclamation of the Republic, as it was during the National Struggle. In the face of the increase in the population of the city and the villages of Ordu, it was seen that the Ordu Hospital building was inadequate in many respects, and the Governorate decided that it was 2.5 km from the city center. It was decided to build a new hospital building in the summer resort area called Keçiköy, as far north as Keçiköy. The State Hospital, which started to serve in its new building outside the city since the end of 1931, had 1 Operator Doctor, 1 Internal Medicine Doctor, 1 Pharmacist, 1 Head Nurse and their assistants. Due to the fact that the hospital is far from the city, a car was purchased with the financial support of the merchants from Ordu to bring the doctors and staff to and from the hospital and to be used in various services of the hospital. Although the staff of the hospital in Keçiköy was constantly expanded, the hospital building became unable to meet the needs. Number of beds; Since the building could not be increased due to its inconvenience, the construction of a new hospital building was started in 1954 in order to fill this gap. This building, which was put into service with the completion of the construction in 1964, served as the "Ordu State Hospital" until 1987, and has been used as the Ordu Provincial Health Directorate since 1987. “Ordu State Hospital” was moved to its current building in 1987, which was previously used as Chest Diseases Hospital. In August 2003, our new annex building was completed and put into service of our people. 13 intensive care units (Coronary Intensive Care 1,2, Internal Intensive Care, Surgical Intensive Care, Reanimation Intensive Care 1,2,3, KCV Intensive Care, Neurology Intensive Care, General Intensive Care 1,2,3,4 ), 32 More than 85 polyclinics in different branches serve the people of Ordu with state-of-the-art imaging devices and over 1300 personnel.
