Söke Fehime Faik Kocagöz State Hospital
The story of our old state hospital, now located in the city center, begins in 1950, before our new building started to serve on 10.11.2004. The construction of the land, which was purchased through the “Birth Center Construction Association” formed by the notables of the region at that time, was completed in 1952. It was the first inpatient health institution of the region with 10 beds. bed and two services (internal and external). In 1958, due to the increasing patient potential and the need for new services, pediatrics and obstetrics services were opened.
Its capacity has been increased to 40 beds. In 1963, it was seen that the existing structure was inadequate. With the additional building built in the same year, “İsa Ruhi BAYGÜR Gynecology and Obstetrics Service” was moved to its new building, and with the opening of eye diseases and bevliye services, 6 services and 75 bed capacity were reached. . Meanwhile, in 1964, our hospital started to provide ambulance service with the vehicle donated by Alaattin KIRIM. In 1975, its capacity was increased to 100 beds with an additional building, and in 1982, with the new arrangement created at the end of the polyclinic and service buildings built by the Göktepe brothers, it started to serve with 145 beds.
Due to the fact that Söke is a district that receives intense immigration, the increasing population density over the years and the physical expansion of the district have left the hospital building in the middle of the city. Despite the additional buildings built, it has become unable to respond to the increasing patient potential. The first steps were taken for the construction of a modern hospital building worthy of Söke District. The construction of the new hospital building, which was started in 1990, was completed on 07.09.2004. The construction area is 4670 m2 and the total construction area is 19804 m2. Financial support was provided to the philanthropists of Söke for the opening of this large and modern building, and our new hospital, which was put into service on 10.11.2004, was put into service.
