Ekinlik Island

Ekinlik Island is a member of the Marmara Archipelago of Balıkesir Province. It is the smallest inhabited island in the archipelago. There is a settlement with the same name as the island on the island, which is connected to the district of Marmara as an administration. According to the 2019 census, the permanent population of the island is 151 people. The surface area of the island is 3.3 km2. Ekinlik Island is not a touristic island like Avşa Island, which is right across it. Despite this, the population of the island is increasing due to the visit of the islanders who move to the big cities in the summer months.
