Marmara Island
It is located in a shallow sea area between the Kapıdağ Peninsula and Şarköy, in the southwest of the Sea of Marmara.
Marmara Island, which is the largest of the islands in the Sea of Marmara and takes its name from Marmor because it is famous for its marble and marble hot springs, has an area of approximately 110 km². The highest point of the island is İlyas Tepe, also known as Radar Tepe. Marmara has made great progress in olive production and fishing is the main source of livelihood.
