Ayn Zeliha Lake

It is located just south of Halil-ür Rahman Lake, in front of the Urfa Castle, and is a lake with an area of 150m2. The fish in this lake are inedible as the place is believed to be sacred. According to rumors, when Prophet Ibrahim was going to be thrown into the fire, Nemrut's daughter Zeliha was sent to Hz. When he says that he believes in Abraham's religion, he is thrown into the fire by his father. Zeliha burns to death. Later, a lake forms where Zeliha fell. This lake is also called Aynzeliha (Zeliha Lake or Spring). In another narration, it is called "Aynzeliha", which means tears in Arabic and the inside of Zeliha consists of tears. In folk beliefs, fish in a lake or lake are considered sacred. It is believed that those who touch these fish will die or be in trouble. There are tea gardens around the lake for people to sit comfortably and relax in the atmosphere of this historical texture. There are two boats in the lake, which has a lot of visitors especially in the spring and summer months. Guests can take a small tour by boat if they wish.
