Buzul Lake
Rize proudly deserves the title of 'the city that hosts the most glacial lakes' in Turkey. These natural beauties, which take on the colors of blue, dark blue, green or turquoise, spread like pearls to the ravines of the mountains. The largest number of glacial lakes, with its number approaching two hundred, is in the Kaçkar Mountains. The lakes, which played an important role in the declaration of the Kaçkar Mountains region as a national park, are located in the basins under the peaks of the mountains extending in the east-west direction.
