Çivril Işıklı Lake Water Birds Protection Area
Çivril Işıklı Lake has been given the status of Class A Wetland by the International Ramsar Convention. It is at an altitude of about 800 m and its area is around 3500 ha. The lake is fed by Büyük Menderes River, Dark Creek and Kuti Stream. Embankments were built on the eastern, western and southern shores of the lake, which is fed by water sources from the east. For this reason, the water level in the lake has increased and the reeds have decreased.
The lake also constitutes an important habitat for waterfowl. Of the species brooding in the region; Small Baladan, Pied Heron, Little Egret, Great Egret, Redbud Heron, Paddy Goose, Angit, Pasbass Spleen, Sea Eagle, Sedge Hornbill, Red Hawk, Stilt, Laughing Tern, Whiskered Tern, Whitewing Tern, Gray Figurine are examples. Among the water birds observed in the lake in winter; Small Cormorant (max. 390), Big White Fish (max. 140), Clumsy Goose (max. 3100), Gray Goose (max. 920), Muddy (max. 5025), Kilördek (max. 7800), Bucket (max. .750), Swamp Snipe (max. 1080) can be given as an example. In addition, the Sea Eagle, Bearded Vulture, Gökçe Delice, Great Forest Eagle (max. 16), Imperial Eagle, Whipped Falcon, Ulu Doğan are the predators that overwinter in the region. In addition, wild boar and deer can be seen coming from Akdağ to drink water.
