Girdev Lake
Girdev Lake, the only lake in the Leydikemer district of Muğla, has an area of 4041 hectares and was taken under protection on 30.12.2022. The most important bird species in the world are found in and around this lake. Therefore, Girdev Lake is an important lake in terms of biodiversity. According to the determined information, it hosts a total of 128 types of birds. Apart from these species, it also hosts foreign birds for short periods of time. There are also various observation towers in this area to watch the birds.
Many astronomical observations are made in the area where Girdev Lake is located because the altitude is high. In addition, many plant species are also found in this region. Various entertainment activities can also be done around this lake. Angling is one of these activities and the most caught fish species is Carp. It is a highly preferred area for picnics. At the same time, many ancient stones around Lake Girdev cause this region to be in the category of an ancient place.
