Hazar Lake
Hazar Lake, also known as Gölcük Lake, is a tectonic lake located in the province of Elazığ in Turkey, extending in the southwest-northeast direction. The lake is located on the longest fracture line in the world. It is on the Rift system, forming tectonic lakes in the east of Africa. The fracture system, which reaches the Amik Plain through the Red Sea, Gulf of Aqaba, Lake Lut, Sharia Trough, reaches the East Anatolian Fault Line. This system, which is a strike-slip fault, causes crustal movements in horizontal and vertical directions. Hazar Lake was formed in the depression formed as a result of the collapses.
