Samsun Simenit Lake
Simenit Lake is a coastal embankment lake located in the eastern part of the Yeşilırmak delta, administratively located in the Terme district of Samsun, and covered by reeds and swamps. It reaches a depth of 1-2 meters in places and 5 meters in places. For the lake in the past years; The names Semenlik, Simenlik, Karasu and Arapsazı were also used. The opening of drainage channels in Simenit lake and the transported alluvial materials narrowed the wetlands, and two separate lakes were formed. The name of the other lake is Akgöl. A 3355-hectare Wildlife Development Area has been created around the lake.
