Ulubat Lake
Uluabat Lake, formerly known as Lake Apolyont, is a large freshwater lake in Bursa province. It is one of the richest lakes in Turkey in terms of both plankton and bottom organisms, aquatic plants, fish and bird populations. In April 1998, T.C. It has been accepted as a Ramsar Site by the Ministry of Environment. It was included in the international Living Lakes Network at the 4th International Expo 2000 Conference. The main source feeding the lake is the Mustafakemalpaşa and Kocasu Streams. There are 11 islands that randomly spread over the lake surface and act as breakwaters in stormy weather. Eskikaraağaç neighborhoods are located on one of the two peninsulas on the northern shore of the lake, and Gölyazı neighborhoods are located on the other.
