Tekçam Legend
A forested area in the mountains of Ovapınar Village in the center of our province disappears over time, but no one touches a pine tree. Local people who see candles burning around the tree at night believe that this pine tree is sacred and come here to make wishes. One day, however, a man living in one of the surrounding villages decides to cut down the tree. He comes to the tree and starts to cut it with his axe and blood comes from where he hit the axe. Determined to cut down the tree, the man does not give up and cuts it down and takes it home. In the evening of that day, it rains unprecedentedly in this area and a flood passes through the village where the man lives. The flood took away only this man's house and his family, but no one else was harmed.
Today, a fountain called "Tekçam" flows where the tree is located and the local people come here to pray for rain when it does not rain.
