Kaiser Wilhelm II Mansion and Historical Guest House

Kaiser Wilhelm II Köşkü (also known as Çivisiz Köşk) is a mansion located in the Körfez district of Kocaeli, built in 1898 for the visit of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the then German Emperor, to the Ottoman Empire.

The reason for the construction of the pavilion was that it was thought that it would create a bad impression for foreign guests visiting this region to stay in barracks after Hereke Carpets became famous worldwide. It was built by order of Sultan Abdülhamit II before the visit of the German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II to İzmit. The parts of the mansion, which was prepared in Yıldız Palace for three weeks, were brought separately by sea and assembled on site with one day of work.
