Balkan Martyrdom
Sarayiçi Balkan Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1994 in memory of 300 thousand martyrs who fought against the enemy occupation in the Balkan War and 20 thousand martyrs who were condemned to death in 1913 in Sarayiçi without food and water. There are names from every corner of Turkey in the martyrdom organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. There is also the Balkan Martyrs Monument built in 1939 in the same area.
