Bayır Çınarı Nature Park
Tourists who come to see the monumental plane tree in Bayır Neighborhood of Muğla's Marmaris district make an important contribution to the local economy. Those who walk around the tree three times believe that their wishes will be accepted.
In 1995, the 2.8-meter diameter plane tree, which was registered as a natural monument at the age of 1880, measured 8.7 meters in circumference. The 35-meter-high tree covers an area of 706 square meters. The monumental tree, which is in danger of drying out, has been periodically maintained since 2008. The tree, whose trunk and branches were rotting, was reinforced with chrome and nickel wires, and rotten areas were covered with special putty. The area around the tree, which was cleaned of fungus and insects, was isolated with iron sulfate and fall stone against fungi.
