Fossil (Ağıl) Juniper Nature Monument

To date, approximately 100 Natural Monuments have been registered in Turkey, and these monuments cover a total area of approximately 500 hectares. There are 4 famous natural monuments in Konya, which is among the places where natural monuments are located. Among these, Fossil Ardıç Natural Monument is within the borders of Çumra Dineksaray District. The monument, identified with Dineksaray, is located on the Konya Bozkır Highway, 50 m away from the main road at the entrance of Dineksaray District. The fossil juniper tree, registered as a natural monument on 27.09.1994, is estimated to be 500 years old. The area of the tree, which has a perimeter of 4 m, is 0.05 ha.

Çumra's Fossil Juniper Tree has a very low number of visitors because it is not promoted enough. However, the monument, which is visited by nature lovers and cyclists from time to time, is known and visited by connoisseurs of the region.
