Great Poplar Nature Monument

Ulukavak Natural Monument in Kamışçık Village of Çekerek district attracts attention with its imposing 20-meter image. The 8-meter-wide poplar tree of the alba genus called "Ulukavak" is estimated to be more than 200 years old. The poplar tree, which has become the symbol of the village and attracts attention with its imposing appearance, is carefully protected by our villagers. The poplar tree, where the villagers wear their traditional clothes and make wishes by sacrificing sacrifices, was declared a protected site in 1993. In addition, the Ulukavak Tree was taken under protection by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and given the status of "Monument Tree".
