Ivriz Rock Monument
It is 4 km from the Halkapınar district center of Konya. The “İvriz Cultural Landscape” located in the south is a landscape area with extraordinary values that was used from the Late Bronze Age to the Late Antiquity. The water sources leaking from the ground in certain months of the year caused the formation of a sacred water area here since the Hittite Period. The Hittites created a cultural landscape by integrating the natural landscape into their beliefs.
The reliefs, stelae and Byzantine Monastery, which are the only examples of the period, belong to the Late Hittite Period and show the continuity of the cultural memory. Especially the İvriz Rock Relief, which is dated to the Late Hittite Period, and the Ambarderesi Rock Relief were made with the extraordinary technologies of the period.
