Mehmet Sergeant Monument

It is one of the first four Turkish monuments built in 1919 to commemorate Mehmet Çavuş and 25 privates, north of the road on Cesaret Tepe. In 1934, a relief inscription "Mehmetçik" in marble was added to the monument.  Ceremonies were held in front of this monument until the Martyrs' Monument was built. In fact, this monument was first built in memory of the "19th Division", and in later years it was called "Mehmetçik Monument" and "Mehmet Çavuş Monument".
