Stadterhebungsmonument

The city elevation monument is a monument commemorating the granting of city rights to Düsseldorf. It is located at the corner of Joseph-Wimmer-Gasse and Müller-Schlösser-Gasse in the old town. The sculpture was made by Bert Gerresheim. It was built in 1988 to mark its 700th anniversary. Reasons include the battle of Worringen, the sealing of the city's certificate of conformity, and the elevation of the parish church dedicated to St. Lambertus into a canon monastery.
