Statue of Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror
It is a monument that is not fully understood for what purpose it was built and gifted to Fatih District. It is one of the monuments adorning the City of Istanbul, the value of which is not fully understood. It is located in the park between Fatih Bozdoğan Arch and Saraçhane passage. It was built by the Fatih Municipality in gratitude and memory of Mehmed the Conqueror and presented to the Istanbul skyline on May 29, 1987. The monument shows Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror on horseback and his entourage. The monument is the work of sculptor Hüseyin Gezer.
