Sultan Murat Martyrs Hill

The Sultan Murat Martyrs' Cemetery is located in the Sultan Murat Plateau in the Çaykara district of Trabzon and was built in memory of the Turkish soldiers who resisted the Russian forces in 1916. The cemetery is decorated with four flags in memory of the soldiers who fought on four fronts and were martyred. The monument is made of Bayburt stone, bears the date June 23, 1916, and draws attention with the message “It will wave forever.”
