Taksim Republic Monument
Taksim Republic Monument, a monument in Taksim Square, Istanbul. Commissioned by Italian sculptor Pietro Canonica, the monument was completed in 1928 with the help of two young Turks, Hadi Bey and Sabiha Hanım. Inaugurated on August 8, 1928, the monument's pedestal and landscaping were designed by architect Giulio Mongeri.
