Toes Menengici Nature Park
Menengiç (Pistacia terebinthus) tree can be seen in Turkey in the form of 2-3 meter tall shrubs or trees up to 10 meters tall. Opposite compound leaves consist of 5-11 glossy leaflets and give off a resinous odor. Reddish purple flowers appear in March and April. The ink fruit is small and spherical, turning green and blue when ripe. Seeds ripen in September-October. It grows best in alkaline soils. It does not grow too tall and grows slowly. It has high light demand. The meningic tree in Sığacık, Seferihisar district was declared as Teos Menengici Natural Monument in 1994 within an area of 1.5 decares.
