Yahya Sergeant Monument
Yahya Sergeant's father was Mustafa Bey and his mother was Hanife Dudu Hanım. He was born in 1887 in Koçali village of Ezine district of Çanakkale province. When he joined the army during the mobilization, Yahya Çavuş's wife was pregnant and expecting a baby. Yahya Çavuş's son named Muharrem was born on 05.01.1914. However, since Yahya Çavuş was martyred during the war, he was not able to see his son. According to official records, the date of his death was May 23, 1331 (June 5, 1915) in Maydos (Eceabat).
