Değirmendere Mosque
Located in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon, at the intersection of Değirmendere and Sanayi neighborhoods, this is a historic structure. Its location next to the Değirmendere Bridge, included in your tour program, makes it a strategic stop. Construction Date: According to the inscription above the entrance gate, the current building dates back to 1947 (Republican Era). However, oral history in the region and some catalog records indicate the existence of an older structure or mosque (dating back to the 19th century) at this location.
Architectural Typology: It reflects the region's characteristic “Rural Mosque” architecture. It was built using rubble stone and cut stone with a masonry technique.
Structure: It is a two-story, gabled, rectangular building. The interior features notable woodwork (ceiling, gallery, and stairs).
Location: It is located on Erzurum Yolu Street, just northwest of Değirmendere Bridge.
