Divriği Kale Mosque
Kale (Hisar) Mosque is located in Divriği Castle in Divriği district of Sivas province. It was built by Emir Ishak, son of Suleyman Shah, in 1180-1181. Its architect is Magaralı Firuz. This building, which gains importance because it is one of the oldest of the Turkish period buildings, is on the edge of a cliff towards the Çaltı Valley. The mosque is made of local red colored stone. It has a rectangular plan and is covered with a vault and a dome. The dome was demolished and very few remains of it have survived to the present day.
