Hatice Hanım Mosque

Mosque / Kuşadası, Turkiye, Aegean, Aydın

Hatice Hanım Mosque

It was built with a square plan and a single dome using stone and brick materials, but has lost its original shape by undergoing radical repairs until today. It was repaired by the people in 1951-57, its dome was renewed as reinforced concrete, the last congregation place was added, the destroyed minaret was rebuilt on this date and its mihrab was unfortunately covered with tiles. The inscription above the low-arched marble entrance of the sanctuary is probably the abjad expression of the period in which it was built. This inscription is written in thuluth calligraphy as four couplets and is as follows.
