Hazrat Muğdat Mosque
It is a modern and large mosque with 6 slender minarets, domes decorated with colorful elements and flamboyant chandeliers. Muğdat Mosque (officially, Mikdad Mosque) is the largest mosque in Mersin. The mosque takes its name from Mikdâd bin Amr, a companion. The mosque is in the central district of Yenişehir. It is on the land between Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard and Adnan Menderes Boulevard. The place where the mosque is located was known as a place of visit among the people for a long time. The mosque was built on this place in 1980. Mersin Naval Museum and Mersin Archeology Museum are adjacent to the mosque from the south.
